Goodbye 2007...Hello 2008!

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

I am still alive and kicking. I realised that it has been close to 2 weeks since I last blogged. *yikes* Christmas went past really fast and yes, I had lotsa pressies. I did not get to attend any pawty at all. :( However, I was able to spend quality time with my hoomans. That means more to me than any pressies in the world! I'd like to take the chance to thank everydog who had sent us lovely cards and well wishes. Thank you so very much for everything - being such great friends.

Excuse me while I continue with my celebration to usher in the new year (2008!!!!). I promise to be back in 2008 bigger & better! *wink* 2007 has been a year with lotsa ups and downs for my family. I am looking foward to 2008 because we should always look forward and not live in the past. I wish everydog & Girl Girl (together with your hoomans) a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! I shall see you guys next year.

I love my ROCK!

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

After raining for the last couple of days (almost non stop in fact), the weather finally cleared up today. Mr Sun is back in action and let's hope he stays here until over the weekend. I haven't been doing much at home cos it's been way too cold. I just lie there waiting for *something* to happen but looks like nothing is going to happen.

I was supposed to share these piktures earlier but I kinda forgot about them. heh heh.. I found my very first special rock during one of my walks. I was pawticularly inspired by Ms Sunshade who has her very own special collection of rocks. I tried to play fetch with it but it didn't roll very well. Then I tried playing football with it too. I tried chewing on it but Mom stopped me cos she said it was bad for my teeth. I thought it was a splendid idea to strike a pose with the rock between my paws.

I decided to bring it home and Mom said she'd carry it for me. :) Hmm...the strange thing is, I don't see my rock at home now. I wonder where did Mom keep the rock? MOM????? *Luckie's Mom : Oh Luckie, I thought you wanted to chew on the lamb ear? Go on, chew on it... Erm..we'll talk about the rock some other time.*

Dad was having a fine time with his new camera lens and I like this pikture a lot. I must have been really tired after my walk. hehe...Just look how long my tongue is! :) I am glad you guys think I showed that truck how fierce I can be. Unforunately, I didn't get to destroy it and it still works. Shucks. :(

Don't mess with me...

Hello frenz,

I did not get to attend my auntie's barkday pawty. My hoomans fed my dinner really early and told me to get some rest and the next thing I know, they were GONE for like HOURS!! :( I can't believe they were so mean to me. *sniff sniff*

With all that pent up anger inside me, I definately needed to find a way to rant! Feeling bad (they should! HARUMMPH), Dad decided to amuse me (or issit really himself) with this new toy.

Take 1 - Luckie plays with her Truck

Take 2 - Luckie plays with her Truck

So what do you think? Did I manage to show that thing I mean business? Don't mess with me or else......

Belly Belly Good....

Hey frenz,

The weekend is just round the corner. My hoomans will be going for a family gathering to celebrate Mom's sister barkday. I heard that there will be a yummy cake and lotsa food. I'm working hard to convince Mom to bring me along although I heard her telling Dad if I do get to go along, she won't be able to eat in "peace". I think she meant, she cannot eat any peas. I know my Mom hates peas. Does anydog or person like peas for that matter?

Anyhoo, I have to spend some time catching up on my beauty sleep. I need to look my best since I'm meeting the rest of the family. :)

Hey Mom - don't stop scratching okay? A little more to the right please.....

I never get bored of belly rubs! :)

Have a good weekend everydog & Girl Girl. :)

Dumplings for you?

Hi my frenz,

Mom had been busy cooking up a storm lately. Pawsonally, I'd prefer if she's cooking food for me to devour. But apparently, that's not the case. It's for those greedy gluttons at home. Anyhoo, she made dumplings soup for lunch. What goes into those dumplings? It's minced meat, shrimps ,chestnuts and some seasoning (you can add in other stuffs too! But this is just a basic filling). She & Dad then started filling up these dumpling skins with the fillings. You see that farnie looking round shaped one? That was made by Dad. He wanted to make it look like a wonton. I'm sorry I don't have the recipe to share cos Mom cooks by memory and doesn't do measurements very well. Everything is a dash of this..a dash of that. *sighz*

Mom put the dumplings into the water to boil. If they start to float, that means they are cooked and ready to be served.

Voila! This is the end product. Dumpling soup with vegetables! :)

I have no idea why she didn't keep any of these for me. Those gluttons just finished every bit of the food! How selfish huh?

Thanks Hana!

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

I received my first Christmas card for 2007 today from my BFF, Hana. That's some feat considering we did not pawticipate in the Christmas card exchange. And why didn't we join in the fun? *darts a dirty look at Mom* Gee, I really have no idea.... Look how bootiful Hana looks with her festive Christmas ribbon necklace. Thanks for the lovely card!!

She also took some time to write me a sweet note. She has really good paw-riting for a doggy. You can read it here. She's really kind to say that my Mom's piktures look nice too. har har... That'd really make Mom's head get bigger and bigger. Maybe that'd be a good thing too considering that she always says she has a big butt. A bigger head would help to balance out the whole body. LOL!!

How was your weekend? The weather finally cleared up after a few weeks of thunderstorms and my hoomans bought me to the park for a walk. Dad took some piktures of some scary looking bugs. I will try to upload them when they are ready. I also met another red long hair daschie called Al. He's really a shy dude and I shared some water with him. Yes, my maid oopsie..I mean Mom carries a bag of stuffs belonging to me when we travel. I never believe in travelling light! Why should I? I mean, I'm not the one carrying al l the stuffs. *wink*

Have a good week ahead. I have lotsa new piktures to share. :) Coming right up folks.....

Who let the Big Bad Wolf in to my house?

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

Recently, I noticed something extremely disturbing in my house. Just look at the child gate in the pikture above! I can't imagine who left those teeth marks behind. Hmm..I think the Big Bad Wolf must have sneaked into my house while I am asleep. Tsk Tsk...

It can't be me cos my teethies are not *that* sharp! (Luckie's Mom : Oh really? Then how do you explain all these marks on my hand?) Hmm...I remember Baby showing us piktures of her child gate at home too and there were also some of those suspicious looking marks on them. I bet the Big Bad Wolf must have gone to her house too.

Maybe it's time for the hoomans to get a new gate! hehe... or maybe they should just remove the darn thing. Who needs a child gate anyway?

Remember my handbag?

Hello my dear frenz,

I was looking around for my handbag so that I could match it with my new dress. Then I got carried away with my handbag. The straps are so short!

Luckie & Her Bag - Take 1

Luckie & Her Bag - Take 2

Hope your weekend has been better than mine. Mom & I took a slow walk (well, it felt kinda slow to me) to the groomers to get my nails done and I had to take a shower when I got home. That wasn't terribly exciting if you ask me. Anyhoo, I just wanted to let you know that Mom's grandpa was discharged from the hospital last Wednesday (after a 2 months stay). Unfortunately, he felt sick on Saturday and complained that he couldn't breathe and his chest hurt, so he was admitted into the hospital again. The vet says he has a lung infection. I will be praying for him and hopefully, he will recover soon to get back home.

Muchas Gracias Lorenza!

Hello frenz,

Last week, Mom collected a package from Lorenza. Now, this package was mailed from China where her Auntie Claudia is working so it's the first time we received something from China. It was a great LOOT cos I was certainly not expecting anything in the mail. :)

I had to check out the package cos it made some really wierd noises and got me reaaaallly excited.

Wow, look at the goodies!! :) She included some treats (which I shared with my cousin cos Mom said I should not be eating so much due to my disappearing waist line) and a chicken drumstick!! I think one of the treats is named after Tanner! It says Tanitos? Issit spanish for Tanner?

She also included a card - it was nice of her to do the translation. :) And the bestest part of my present?? A bootiful handmade dress by Lorenza's grandmama!!

The dress looks exactly like what Lorenza wears. I am soo *touched* by her kind gesture. Mom is really impressed by the handiwork and she says it's really bootifully sewn. Mom says she is sure other dachsies' hoomans would be willing to pay lotsa money for a dress like that! Lorenza says she hopes the dress will fit me. Okay, all I can say is..thank DOG for velcro! hehe

Do I look ladylike? Am I sitting pwettily enuff for you? Now, where's my handbag?

I love my dress. Thank you soooo much my friend. Please give your Mom and your Grandmama lotsa licks and kisses for me!Here's a video of me checking out the package. It made really strange noises I tell ya.

Hope everydog & Girl Girl has a wonderful weekend and I am truly blessed with good friends like you all!

Long Ears?

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

My hair has been getting very long lately and Mom's been complaining about the amount of time she needs to spend on grooming me after my weekly showers. My long ears (& hair) has been getting in my food bowl and so Mom has to do *this* before I start eating.

Being a very good girl, I actually allow her to do that before I start on my meal. Ah, the things I have to do around here to get some food.

In case you are wondering what I was having for dinner, it's kibbles with eggs (topped with parsley + garlic powder + skin/coat supplement).

Dad's New Lens

Hello my frenz,

Guess you all know how much bad luck we have been having lately at my house. Dad decided to cheer himself up by buying a new camera lens. He should have just spent the money on me. Anyhoo, I understand the new lens cost a lot. Mom says it's more than enuff to get me never-ending toys and treats. This new lens is supposed to be good for taking close ups. Oh goodie, maybe now Dad can take more closeup piktures of me without getting too close. Well, you see, when Dad comes really close to me with his camera, I like to surprise him by pouncing on him! haha..and that really pisses him off cos he's worried that I'll end up licking his precious lens. *beams*

Here are a couple of shots taken with his new lens. He also bought some new remote control flash thingy and the stoopid flash of white blinding light *Oh my poor eyes!* appears from all over the places. Eek!

I have no idea why I look so orangey. I can assure you I have not gone for any artificial tanning sessions.

That's me staring soulfully into the lens.

Look how white my teeth are! :)

Mom told me that Lorenza got her Auntie Claudia to send me something from China. We recieved the package and I can't wait to get it opened. Today, Mom went to the post office to pick up 3 parcels. One for Dad, one for herself and one for me! How cool is that? :)

I'm going to count the hours till the hoomans get back home. In the mean time, have a great weekend!

What the heck am I doing?

Dear frenz & Girl Girl,

I can assure you that my Dad doesn't have a fetish for cats. I have reminded him that he is my pawsonal pawparazi and he needs to focus his attention on me *only*. I think he appreciates the gentle reminder - you know how gentle and tactful I can be don't you?

A couple of nights ago, my hoomans captured a video of me doing this! I can't tell you exactly what I'm doing or else I'll have to silence you. heh heh... PS : Yes, that thumping sound is my tail wagging against the door and floor. Did you notice my Mom sneaking around in the background?

On a side note, have you ever tried digging and sniffing one particular spot in your house non-stop? You do it so often that the scratching irritates the crap out of your hoomans and the floor is icky with your drool (from the licking and wet nose of course!)? I have been doing that at one spot in my kitchen and it's driving my Mom nuts! Once again, I can't tell you what I'm digging for okay?

Oh yes, before I forget, have a safe trip and enjoy yourself Eil Jie Jie! :)

Random Pikture Madness

Hello frenz,

I was reading Huskee's blog and realised he met a Peeping Tom during one of his walkies. Imagine my horror when I came across this among my Dad's piktures which he took a couple of days ago when we went out for a walk. Do you think he was peeping at me too? *gasp*

Thanks Balboa!

Hey frenz,

This is another long overdue post. ARGH! I wanted so much to share with you what my buddy, Balboa sent to me a couple of weeks back. I received a packet of Newman's Own Organic Peanut Butter kookies and a gorgeous PINK ball. Now, we all know how much he loves his balls (no pun intended! This is a family blog okay??)

This is no ordinary ball. It's BIG. I know it doesn't look *that* big beside the packet of kookies but it's big for sure. I can't even put it in my mouth! LOL!! Dad says it squeaks really loud and he doesn't allow me to play with it at night. Mom says the I make enuff noise with the ball to tear the house down. Boom Boom Shake Shake the Room! :)

I leave you with two great videos of myself with my new PINK ball. What a great gift! :) Thank you so much my friend!! I have been spending hours playing football with my Mom. I am the goalie and Mom's the striker. I could try to show you what football is like in my house except Mom doesn't have enough hands to hold the camera and play with me. We'll need to get Dad involved too. hehe

Look how fast I dribble the ball! Now, who wants to play football with me? :) Wally, may I join your football team?

Just Chilling.....

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

I had a nice weekend just chilling out. :) How about you? Did you have fun at your Halloween Bash? The hoomans actually felt well enough to bring me for a short walk. Okay, so it was just around the neighbourhood but hey I'm not complaining!! Afterall, the last time I had a chance to leave the house was like more than a MONTH ago. Can you believe that?

I am totally hooked on Lamb Ears and those Flossies chews I tell ya. I made Mom order more Lamb Ears for me. She's still quite undecided about those Bully Sticks. What we want to know is..are Bully Sticks really stinky (& sticky) after we chew them? Cos we came across some Bully Sticks that claim to be Odor Free. That made Mom panic a little cos she figured out they probably stink a lot and smell gross after chewing (YES YES YES!!!). So we want to know is that true. No, not really we but Mom only. I don't care if they stink and in fact, I think they should stink! hehe...

I also want to tell my dear friend Stanley (he's busy leading a super chaotic life with his new sissy Stella right now) to take a little time out to CHILL okay? Have you gotten your PINK attire ready for Ike & Martha's wedding too? I need to go look for something decent to wear or at least bring something for them. Wish me luck! I could bring my PINK nylobone erm..except Mom has thrown it away. Shucks, I thought I could spread the LOVE and share it with everydog & Girl Girl (yes you too, if you want a little lick!)

Princess Bone

Hello my frenz,

It has been a crazy crazy crazy time at my home. I'm afriad I can't make it for the Halloween Pawty this weekend too. Yikes....I haven't had time to post since last week simply cos Dad was hospitalised! *gasp* Yes, he was! That happened on early Wednesday morning. Anyhoo, I'm not going to post any more depressing news. All I have to say is..he's ok now and ready to get back to work on Monday. Mom has also gone back to work and she told me she's going to meet Eil & maybe Huskee's Maid this week for lunch. Now, that's some good news to look forward to don't you think? :) Hmm...I wonder what they'll be having for lunch!

I wanted to share about this PINK Princess Bone I have been working on lately. It's my first attempt working on a nylonbone. Before that, I could never imagine how fun gnawing on a plastic bone was.

There's something about this PINK bone that just induces me to want to gnaw and gnaw and gnaw......

Your jaws will definately get a very good workout after this. I never felt so tired before! LOL!!

Oh, just in case you miss my face....hehe....

The end product. Mom says I'm a horrible chewer. Is that so? I thought I did a pretty decent job. Anyhoo, she took it away saying those plastic bits will cause me to have a tummy upset. What a pawty pooper!

Luckie & Her Princess Bone

I'm going to relax a little and enjoy my weekend!! I hope you guys have lotsa fun at the Halloween Pawty. :)

I'm Sorry...

Hi frenz,

I really need to apologize for the recent lack of posts. I had thought that I'd have a more exciting weekend or news to update everydog & Girl Girl today unfortunately, it turned out to be another one of those bad luck days.

Well, Mom had lost her voice since Friday. I have been helping her to look for her voice but I can't seem to find it. If you happen to see it around, do let me know okay? She's a scatterbrain and totally have no idea where she left her voice. :( Anyhoo, I can't quite understand what she's trying to tell me with those frantic actions and mouth movements cos I don't do sign language nor lip read. I mean I would if sign language or lip reading were taught in dog school. Then again, I have never been to dog school...I digress. And just when I am busy dealing with my Mom losing her voice (it gets kinda quiet without her going Luckie this & Luckie that!), Dad became sick too?!!

Early this morning around 3am (yes, I have to be very precise!), I was rudely awaken by my Mom when she switched on the kitchen lights to get medicine for Dad. Apparently, Dad had some bad food yesterday, that resulted in a very, very bad case of vomiting non stop & watery stools. *gross* He was moaning really scarily and was in a bad shape. You would be in pain if you kept doing that every 10 mins too! I wonder if he ate bugs or I dunno perhaps those stuffs we are not supposed to eat when our hoomans tell us to LEAVE IT?

The hoomans waited till this morning to visit the hooman vet who gave my Dad a injection *ouchie*. It's supposed to stop the watery stools & vomiting. It seemed to work for a couple of hours and then the whole darn thing started again! Mom told me she had to bring Dad in to the emergency unit at the hospital cos he was becoming very dehydrated. I wish I could accompany Mom along cos it was bad enuff she lost her voice so how was she going to tell the vet what's wrong with Dad? Maybe the vet at the hospital understood sign language and could lip read?

Dad had more pokies by the vet. :( He also had a blood test done to check if there was any virus. They also gave him 3 packets of water or something....I dunno why they had to give him water when there's tons of water at home. Anyhoo, the blood test was okay. Thankfully, he didn't need to be warded and is now sleeping at home. Mom said I had to be quiet cos he needs to rest. Gee, I hope he gets well soon. I guess I'll head off to bed now too. What else can I do? *sigh* The only good that came out of today was...Mom didn't have time to give me a shower! hehehe...but then again, she said she'll do that tomorow.

Oh, if you happen to see good luck around, I guess I would like some for my hoomans.

PS : Luckie's Mom - The doctor said I had some voice box infection so basically, I sound like crap! But it's under control with medication now. No worries. Luckie's Dad is also recovering but I guess he's going to be losing a couple of pounds after this unlucky incident.

Goodies

Hello frenz,

Mom ordered some goodies from Ebay for me a couple of weeks ago and it finally arrived! :) She was very grumpy cos she had to queue at the post office for a long time just to collect the parcel. It was just too big for my teeny mail box. Seriously, what's a little sacrifice for me? *grumble grumble*

Here's my loot of goodies. A couple of tender lamb ears for me to enjoy. They were indeed very tender and one piece certainly did not last long with me. hehe..I just wish she ordered MORE!! *hint hint*

She also ordered some flossies spiral chews. These were awesome too. A tad bit tougher than the lamb ears but it gave me a good jaw workout. Maybe she can get me those giant size flossies the next round. (Luckie's Mom : Gosh, you are such a glutton. There is no NEXT TIME until you are done with these first!)

Check out these turkey patties!! Unfortunately, I did not get a whole piece at one go. Mom has broken them into teeny weeny pieces. She says it's for my own good so I have to listen to her. I think the true reason is because these patties were kinda oily and she didn't want me to dirty her floor or my paws.

Too bad there were no bully stixs inside the package. I had reminded her to include some but she said they were gross?!? She doesn't know how to appreciate good food. ARGH!!

We also had a nasty surprise waiting for us. Yucks! Thank dog, Mom checked everything before storing them away. Now, that's what I call GROSS.

Mr Cow - Before

Hi Everydog & Girl Girl,

I hear ya'all saying you miss looking at my face. *blush* That's just too sweet. Since Mom isn't able to spend as much time as she like with me lately, she makes it up by making sure I get QUALITY time and not QUANITY time with her. Dad has been a good buddy too keeping me company while Mom's busy doing the chores. Poor hoomans, they have been so tired shuttling between home and the hospital where Mom's Granddad is staying right now. We have no idea when he can be discharged yet as he's still going through some tests but we will continue to pray for his recovery.

Moving on, I'll like to introduce you to my pal, Mr Cow. He was given to me by Huskee's Maid a while ago. :)
Look how nice and clean he looks. hehehe *for now*

That's me telling Mr Cow not to be afriad of the opawration. It wouldn't hurt at all.

I need you to relax and lean back.

Let me hear your heartbeat.

Sometimes, it's easier to work in a place with good lighting.

Huh, did you say something? Is the sun too glaring?

Let me check your blood pressure.

I leave you with a video clip of myself bonding with Mr Cow. :) Have a good weekend!!

Luckie & Mr Cow
