The Aftermath of a Bath

Hello frenz,

Every Sunday is Bath Day for me. I have no issues going into the shower and allowing Mom to give me a nice massage but I HATE it when she lathers leave in conditioner on me after we get out of the bathroom. I also HATE that noisy, hot gun she points at me. Sheesh, talk about the price I have to pay for beauty! :(

What are you looking at?
I get very moody and like to spend time pondering about why Mom enjoys torturing me with the hot air gun. Why can't I roll on the grass, or the carpet or even the couch after my shower? (Luckie's Mom : Let's see...maybe cos it defeats the reason of taking a shower and getting dirty right after that??)

Are you spying on me, Mom? I can see you okay!!

*yawn* I also get very sleepy.....zzz...baths are really tiring business....

I Love My Handbag

Hello my dear frenz,

My handbag has been going everywhere with me lately. So what's a little wear & tear?

I believe there's some manufacturing default with the straps of the handbag. Just look at it! You guys know how gentle I am right? There's no way I could have done this. Afterall, I only opawrate on stuffies and not handbags.

Bummer. Now what am I going to carry when I have a date? :(

Thank You Dear Casper

Hey frenz,

I had a lovely surprise in the mail from Casper D Dog yesterday. This was soooo unexpected and we *love* that magnet so much. Mom says she'll bring it to work and put it at her work station cos it makes her smile just looking at your smiley face.

Thank you so much Casper! We hope you are feeling better and can play all day long soon. :)

I know many of you really wanted to know if the boyz turned up for our date and what actually happened on our date. But a lady never kisses & tells. Oopsie....there was no kissing involved okay??

On a side note, the hoomans promised to bring me out today if the weather was good. Guess what? The weather was wonderful but instead of bringing me out, they left me at home and adopted this THING home.

Seriously, our family has this crazy thing about apples going on. I mean I love eating them and my hoomans love collecting them. So everydog & Girl Girl, raise your paws and say Hello to Mr MacBook who now joins his frenz Mr Ipod (He's the old man, still working very hard for Dad, being one of the 1st few generation Ipods. The sales person at the shop told Dad Mr Ipod's resale value is pathetic and he would be better off in an old age home aka retired. Poor Dad. Now he thinks he needs Mr I-Mac for company!), Miss Nano (She's pretty young with nice fair aka white skin and belongs to Mom) & Little Miss Shuffle (Not too sure where she came from! Must have followed her frenz home.) I hope your hoomans are are not as crazy as mine. *sighz*

I'm going on a Date!

Hi guys,

As you know, Hana sent me a lovely ribbon necklace recently and Copper gave me a handbag. Did I mention he also asked me for a date? So I have been really busy preparing for my BIG DATE. Oh yes, Tad seems a bit jealous so I think I'll have a DOUBLE date with them instead. Yup, only me with two of them that makes it a double date right? I put on my necklace and I have my trusty handbag with me.

That's me waiting for the boys to come pick me up.

What's taking them so long? Bummer. I'm getting kinda sleepy. *yawn*

Since I had time to spare, I decide to indulge in my version of roaching! Totally inspired by Wally who shared with us the art of roaching and by Stan's recent post on how to refresh oneself by roaching. Okay, so I'm not surrounded by lush green grass but roaching can be done anywhere, anytime! Indoors or outdoors!

Here's a video of me when Mom passed me my handbag for my date. Yeah, my mom borrowed my handbag for work. heh heh....I can't bear to say no to her so she has been using it. LOL! I hope her colleagues like my bag more than those fugly bags Mom carries around usually.

I realised usually movies come with outakes at the end. This was what really happened behind the scenes. I must say I wasn't very impressed when I had to put on my necklace again without any kookies as distraction. This is THE face I show Mom when I am pissed off with her.

Shucks, I hope I didn't scare the boys off!

Dachshunds are Big Dogs in Small Packages

Hey everydog & Girl Girl,

It has been a gloomy weekend in Singapore and I am *stuck* at home. I have been home bound for 2 whole weeks now. This is not acceptable...but I guess since my hoomans are also stuck at home, it does make me feel a tad bit better.

Maggie tagged me the other day to share about the Dachshund breed. Okay, I took a short cut and decided to google "Dachshund". heh heh....

The dachshund is a short-legged, elongated dog breed of the hound family. The breed's name is German and literally means "badger dog," from (der) Dachs, badger, and (der) Hund, dog. The standard size was developed to scent, chase, and flush badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals, while the miniature was to hunt rabbits. (Okay, show me the whabbits!! I'm going to HUNT you down.) Due to the long, narrow build, they are sometimes referred to in the United States and elsewhere as a wiener dog, hot dog, or sausage dog, though such terms are sometimes considered disparaging (I totally AGREE!!) Notwithstanding the German origin of the dachshund's name, within Germany the breed is known—both formally and informally—as the Dackel or Teckel.

Dachshunds are playful, fun dogs, known for their propensity to chase small animals, birds and tennis balls with great determination and ferocity. Many dachshunds are strong-headed or stubborn, making them a challenge to train. (I am not stubborn - I chose not to learn.) Dachshunds are known for their devotion and loyalty to their owners. If left alone many dachshunds will whine until they have companionship. (I dunno who wrote that but I have to say I do not WHINE and need constant companionship. It is Mom who insists that I spend time with her. So what's a dog got to do but to obey her Mom?)

We come in 3 different coats, namely smooth coat, long hair & wire hair coats. We also come in many different colours and patterns. Although I must say some colours & patterns are really quite rare, that's what makes each one of us special in our very own way. Besides the standard & miniature size, those in-betweens are called tweenies. hehe..like me! Gee, dachshunds are sure versatile huh? Appearing in different coats, size and patterns!

We have quite a few dachshies frenz here...do you know what size, coat and patterns they are? I have to say Ricky & Maggie the Dachshund have one of the more unique colors among us. Ricky is a silver dapple boy and Maggie is a red brindle girl.

Now, I'll like to tag Hana (yes, you again!!), Toby & River to tell us more about their breed.

PS : Oh Copper, let me know once you get your paws on your Mom's plastic. I need to prepare for our date. :)

5 Questions for Me!

Hi frenz,

Ruby tagged me last week for this game and I was all ready to go for it until I realised my hoomans have been spying on me at night. They captured some of my private moments with MYSELF (who else?!). What the heck....isn't there a law with regards invasion of privacy? (Luckie's Mom : She's a very light sleeper so it's practically impossible trying to get a pikture of her sleeping. We had to sneak in a few times just to snap these piktures!! All that trouble was well worth it cos she was really half asleep *cute* when we took these shots.)

Anyhoo, let's move on to the game. I have to answer 5 questions so that sounds pretty simple. :) Here we go!

1. Where is your favorite place to sleep?

Hmmm, I have this bed which I sleep on every night without fail. Mom puts a blankie inside to keep me nice and warm. Even though I am out of my play area, I'd head back to my bed (which is inside my play area) to sleep without fail. I need my favourite bear to hug to bed and Mom has to tuck me in. I tend to bring along another toy just in case I can't fall asleep yet and ya know..need something to keep me occupied.

Dad has been telling Mom the bed is too small for me and I need a bigger one. It seems fine to me. I like squishing myself up against the side of my bed. Okay, I know I'm a messy sleeper but who cares? hehe....

There is a difference between these two piktures if you look closely enuff. It's all in the eyes!! Mr Bear comes in very useful at times cos I can use him as a pillow for my head or for me to hug between my front paws.

2. Is there a specific trick your humans make you do to get treats?

Gee, I'm not exactly pawformer. I mean, whenever Mom asks me politely, I'd consider and then decide if I wanna do it. I mean don't you think SIT Luckie, STAY Luckie, DOWN Luckie, WAIT Luckie, etc etc is so rude. The right way would be....Luckie, PLEASE Sit. Okay, I guess I can do that for her. I expect her to say THANK YOU after I pawform too. It's always good to mind our Ps & Qs right? As always, if I am desperate for the treats, I'd run through my entire sequence of all the tricks I know just so I can get my treats.

3. If you could spend an entire day doing anything at all with anyone what would do and with whom?

I'm not fussy as long as I get to spend time the entire day with my hoomans. It's true. I mean with my hoomans going out to work so as to bring back the bacon (no puns intended cos I never get to eat any bacon anyhoo), I hardly get to spend time with my hoomans during weekdays. *sighz* So if they can take some time off and spend it with me whether we are just lazing around at home or bringing me out to some cool places, I'm okay with that.

4. What is your favorite toy?

hahaha..I can't stop laffing when I read this question. My favourite toy would be the one who needs me to pawform my opawration of course! There cannot be just ONE favourite toy puhleeze...you can't ask a Doctor who is his favourite patient can you?

5. If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be?

This is a tough question. I'd like to use a lifeline and maybe call a friend...no wait, maybe I'll use 50-50. Huh, what did you say? I'm not on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Okaaaaay, so I'm on my own. I wish all of us lived close by and can always meet at our regular DWB dogpark. That'd be awesome! Or we could all get DWB matching tattoos...way COOL....(Luckie's Mom : Erm..I think she has been watching too much Miami Ink & LA Ink on tv..my bad..)

Sorry for the lack of posts lately...I think I'm going through a writer's block. :( Before I forget, I'm going to tag Toffee, Huskee & Hana to answer these 5 questions too!

National Day Pawty Singapore DWB Friendz

Hi Everydog & Girl Girl,

Okay I am probably the last dog to blog about the National Day Pawty with my fellow Singapore DWB frenz. heh heh....Sorry to be so S L O W cos my hoomans are major slackers and I had to bug them like countless times before they could get down to some serious business.

The pawty was held at a doggy cafe called Pawtabello which served pretty decent hooman and doggy cuisine. I mean I could only guess the hooman food tasted good cos my parents ate like they were starving and finished up their portions even before the rest of the hoomans had their dinner. How embarassing! Sheesh, remind me not to bring them out next time. Mom didn't order *anything* for me cos she said I am still on a diet and have to eat at home instead. :( The decor was lovely and best of all, we could like pee and poop anywhere we wanted!

I had the chance to meet up with my DWB friends finally!! :) Here's Precious who looked really sweet in her pink dress and pink ribbon. She brought her sista & kor out too.

Here's Precious with her sista. Both her hoomans were very friendly and they gave me pretty decent belly rubs. heh heh..No complaints about that!

Then I met up with Chilli the JRT. She's really hyper and can jump really high! I have to say I'm impressed!

Chilli also performed her version of BANG BANG. Too bad we didn't get to video that!

Chilli's good friend, Snowball was also at the pawty.

Snowball was dressed in her pink overalls. Doesn't she look great?

This pawty wouldn't have happened without our organiser Boo Boo. Thanks so much for doing all the hard work.

Boo Boo invited Girl Girl the CKCS along too! She's a very friendly girl and went round saying hi to all of us. :) That's Girl Girl the CKCS checking out the treats in the cafe.

Then I had the pleasure of meeting Huskee. He looks really manly in his biker shirt!!

Huskee brought his parents and his maid along for this pawty. Hmm..his hoomans must have been behaving at home for him to bring them out. I mean my hoomans had to beg me to bring them out before I allowed them to come along.

I had to post this pikture cos I thought it was really sweet to see him cuddling up with his Mom.

Jay's family also came along in full force! Eil Jie Jie was helping Jay's hooman with the doggies.

Here's Brandy.....one of Jay's playmate.

Brandy has such gorgeous fur and is sooooo photogenic!

I think Dad has a crush on her. I mean I don't even see that many piktures of myself!! We didn't get a pikture of Coco cos he wasn't feeling too good that day. :( Piktures of Whisky didn't turn out that well cos the lighting was very bad and it's really had to get decent piktures since Whisky is black. So sorry about that, hopefully we can do another outing outdoors with great sunlight and maybe get a nice family shot of Jay's family next time. As you all know, Jay & Coco are not feeling well after the pawty. I am sending lotsa pawsitive thoughts to them and I hope you can give them some support and lurve too!

The hoomans wanted us to take a group pikture. Erm..okay..don't say we never try!! Alright, I wasn't in the pikture cos Mom didn't want me to mess up everything. Sheesh ~ thanks for your vote of confidence Mom!!

Just in case you weren't convinced I was at the pawty cos I never appeared in any piktures, here's a pikture of me in Mom's arms. heh heh...why walk when you can be carried?

I am sorry I didn't get a chance to chat more with Chiyo, Baby & Boy. Hopefully, we can catch up again soon alrighty? Reina, I have a lovely family pikture of you & your parents...but but..I couldn't crop the pikture cos it would look wierd without your hoomans. I will send that to you okay? :) Thanks for giving us a lift to the pawty.

Will upload the piktures of my pressies soon! Hope you enjoy the piktures!

Look what Hana sent.....

Hello frenz,

I am recovering from our awesome National Day Pawty last evening. It was really exciting meeting up so many frenz in pawson I tell ya. Dad was the official photographer for me so I'll post the piktures once he's through with them okay? I think some of them have blogged about the pawty already. :)

In the mean time, I did promise to share with you what Hana sent to me last week. She gave me some yummy cookies - yes, they came in really cute shapes like the postman and a mailbox! I also received a packet of Good GIRL Choco-Drops. Yum Yum Yum!

Yup, this time round, it says Good GIRL! :) It's definately for me. There's even a daschie on the cover of this treat. heh heh heh....

She also wrote me a nice letter. You can read it here!

I received a lovely ribbon necklace from Hana!! Her Mom is so talented and has an eye for matching colours. Just look how lovely the colours are! In case you wanna get your own necklace too, you can check out Hana's blog for more details okay?

The colors of the ribbon necklace really flatters my hair colour. *blush*

Here's a look from the back. Oops..how messy!! Mom says I need to learn to be more ladylike.

Here's a side view. Mom could never get me to look at her cos I was too busy checking out my new necklace. I mean I was totally concentrating! Both of my ears were flipped outwards and I didn't even notice.

Checking out the necklace again on my back. No no no..I wasn't biting it. I was erm..just holding it with my paws for a closer look.

Just look at how shiny the ribbon necklace is! It makes my hair positive glossy! :)

Mom decided I could have one of those cookies...so I chose to eat Mr Postman first. Cos he took so long with the package so I think he deserves to be eaten.

Luckie & Her Cookie - Take 1 (I can be really prissy cos I don't really know how to deal with cookies that are not bite size!! I was trying to hide the cookie in my erm..bed until I figured out how to tackle a cookie of that size. It's all Mom's fault cos she always feed me bite size food!!)

Luckie & Her Cookie - Take 2 (Okay, so I needed Mom to feed me. Did you hear how crunchy the cookie was? Delicious I tell ya. It made me forget I had a ribbon necklace on!)

I realised I've been tagged by Maggie to share the Dachshund Breed & Ruby to share about 5 likes about me. Whoa, I need to do serious thinking and get to work. In the mean time, since I am not the *only* dachshund blogger around, I wanna tag my fellow daschies to share about our breed too. So if you are a dachshund (or you think you are one in disguise) you know what to do. I'm not going to name any dog in pawticular okay?

Have a great weekend guys! I will blog soon. Cos it's almost my 100th post!! :)

Happy Barkday Singapore!

Hello!

9th of August is Singapore's 42th barkday. That also means the hoomans will get a day off from work *yipee* and I will have them at my beck & call all day long. To celebrate Singapore's barkday, Mom gave me a new toy. Everydog & Girl Girl, please meet Mr Lion! :) Why Mr Lion you may be asking yourself....well Singapore actually means "Lion City" so that's why I have Mr Lion to celebrate Singapore's barkday with me.

I'm getting to know Mr Lion better and giving him a play bow! I want to play with you!!

Mr Lion's head squeaks so I've to make sure the squeaker is working.

I didn't know Lions have such long limbs. *chomp chomp chomp*

Hmm...you smell so nice....

Let me help you with your yoga.....
Luckie & Mr Lion - Take 1 (I had a fun time playing bitey hands with my Mom and I even gave a very delicate lady-like sneeze towards the end of the video.)

Luckie & Mr Lion - Take 2 (Okay, I didn't want to upload this at all cos I didn't want you to see my nekkid belly!!!)

Luckie & Mr Lion - Take 3 (It's really fun rolling from side to side with Mr Lion!)

Guess what? It's 1 more day to the National Day Pawty!! :)
