Kibbles and more Kibbles...

Hey guys,

Lately, Mom has been complaining about a lack of space on her kitchen's countertop cos it's filled with containers of kibbles meant for us. I have always been eating Timberwolf's (TW) kibbles from the time I came home. Mom always add some other food like meat/vegetables to my kibbles (and not forgetting my supplements too). I am not a picky eater and basically, I'm just glad to have food given to be at regular times unlike some other puppy I know. *cough cough*
I'm currently finishing up my TW's Ocean Blue formula which is supposed to be a fish based formula until they added in chicken fats (not that I cannot eat chicken). In any case, recently, Mom got hold of a sample of another brand called Taste of the Wild (TOTW). Despite the size of the kibbles looking way bigger (like M & Ms according to Mom), I am definately digging the new kibbles. :) Yummy~ so I'll be moving on to TOTW's Pacific Stream Canine Formula soon. It says "A fish protein, grain-free formula for all life stages with sweet potatoes provides highly digestible energy for your sensitive dog. Made with real smoked salmon, this formula offers a taste sensation like no other. Supplemented with fruits and vegetables, this fish and potato formula delivers natural antioxidants to protect your friend's body from the damage of everyday living, supporting a healthy immune system and overall good health. Your dog craves a taste of the wild.Go ahead and give him one." What a load of garbage, there's only one test for me - the TASTE test.

That's just me. Susie is another story altogether. She's a really picky eater!! She gets kibbles with minced meat and milk too. She takes like forever to finish up. I hate to say this...I never got milk when I was a puppy. *sighz* However, thanks to Susie, I get a little milk in the morning now. When I say little...I mean it's really little like maybe 2 to 3 spoonsful of milk. *woeful* Susie's taking a mix of kibbles from TW's Lamb & Apples Formula and Natural Balance's (NB) Potato & Duck Formula.

Okay, I counted - so we have 4 different kibbles at home. But I think it's reasonable considering we have two dogs. The 2 hoomans have one whole fridge of FOOD to themselves and Mom's complaining abt a lack of countertop space?

PS : Mom caught me in action helping myself to Susie's bowl. Crap..now I can't do that anymore cos she moved Susie's bowl away from our common fence. (Luckie's Mom : I usually place Susie's food bowl beside their common fence and since Susie's bowl is a bit smaller/higher compared to Luckie's bowl, her food is piled up higher. I caught Luckie squishing her nose through the gap in the fence trying to nudge Susie's kibbles out of her bowl. Luckie was even using her TONGUE to flip the kibbles out. Once the kibbles land outside the bowl, Luckie uses her paw to slowly scratch/paw the kibble to her side. My god..all that trouble for one kibble!! I wish I could get it on video. I have no idea if I should laugh or get upset with Luckie. LOL!!)

And this is how we play

Good Morning!

It has been a little over a week since Susie came home. Things are slowly settling into place. We get our regular rescheduled play time cos Mom says we need to be supervised during play. Seriously, she can be a total control freak at times.

Mom says I put on some weight cos I have been eating a lot lately. Susie still has to drink milk with her kibbles and so I get some milk for my breakfast too. :P Plus, Susie is a very slow eater unlike me. Mom caught me going into Susie's play area a couple of times to 'help' her finish up. I mean, I wouldn't want Mom to have to wait for Susie to finish up and then wash her bowl so I was simply being helpful. However, Mom didn't seem to agree. In any case, I just wanted to say that I feel that I'm not getting enough food because my portions seem so tiny compared to my sister.

I read that you guys wanted some piktures of us together. Well, Mom did try to snap some piktures of us playing cos we hardly sit down quietly together. Unfortunately, the piktures turned out kinda blurry. Mom can't figure out why we always want the same toy even though we have 2 of the exact toy in the house. I'm not going to tell her why..go figure it out yourself woman!

Okay, so the first pikture is really blurry. But yes, we are playing!

Here's another pikture of us...Gee, I just realised that our coats contrast so brillantly in the sunlight! In any case, I sure hope your week is going great! :)

Meet Susie Girl

Hello friends,

Remember my last post? Some of you guessed it right - I did not get a bigger play area although it'd be cool to get more space. I'd like to introduce my new sister to everydog & Girl Girl. Say Hi to Susie Girl! :) She's coming to 8 weeks old now and was born on Singapore's birthday - 9th Aug 2008. She's a long hair shaded red mini dachshund like me. Her parents are from Japan and so we expect her to be much smaller boned compared to me (Australia bred). But that's okay, Dad says he likes my size cos I'm nice and sturdy! heh heh... always nice to feel appreciated. Susie looks kinda grouchy in the piktures cos it's the first time she had to endure a photoshoot. The piktures were taken when she was 6 weeks old.

The first night was horrible cos Susie kept whining and whining. That meant I had to keep barking together with her afterall it is very exciting to have company at home. Mom had to drag me to their room to "try to" get some sleep. I was obviously very worried about Susie cos the moment the room door was opened, I'd dash to the kitchen to keep her company. (Luckie's Mom - Luckie's really attached to Susie now. She doesn't want to follow us around the house anymore and is contented just staring at Susie through their play pen. She was really rough with Susie initially- kept nudging Susie non stop and doing those scary-sounding play growls. But I think Luckie got a hang of playing with Susie now and it's really heartwarming watching them bond. It makes double the poop and double the pee all worth while IMO.)

Thank dog - she stopped her non-stop whining after the first day. It's mostly peace & quiet. I think I'll get some rest since she's quiet now. *yawn* I guess having a sister isn't that bad afterall.

A regular & maybe not so regular weekend...

Hallo Everydog & Girl Girl,

It was Singapore's First F1 race last night and boy was it noisy. My hoomans realised there was nothing else to watch on TV except that and ended up watching the race anyway. I was feeling kinda tired and having pre-monday blues so I decided to laze around on my own.

It was another regular weekend for me - I had my not so regular walk around the neighbourhood and my regular bath session with Mom. However, there was some not so regular construction going on in my home! Dad was busy putting up new play pen fences beside my current home, Mom was busy washing my old toys....I did my inspection of the works in progress while the hoomans went about doing their chores. I wonder if the hoomans are extending my current play area - ya know, like reconstruction of homes. I could do with a bigger play area....*ponders*

I'm not too sure I like what is going on....

Signed,

A Very Worried Luckie

Happy Barkday Mom!!

Hello!!

How's your weekend coming along? Today is Mom's Barkday and they decided to spend the day at home with me. Okay, so maybe I'll forgive them for leaving me at home yesterday while they went out to this secret "place" carrying lotsa stuffs. I am pretty sure both of them cheated on me while they were out at this secret "place" cos they came back smelling of many, many dogs. I assure you I gave them a thorough sniff all over and nothing escapes my nose.

Mom bought me a pink Puppia Harness a couple of months back but I never got down to modelling it here.

What do you think? Is Pink my color?? :)

I miss going outdoors!! I think my tan's fading...*sighz*

The Puppia Harness has some metal parts that actually rusted over the last few months. :( I have no idea how that happened. Luckily, Dad says he can replace those metal parts.

In any case, I just wanted to wish Mom a Happy Barkday - you're one year older now! ha ha...I'm going to spend some time with the hoomans before another long work week starts tomorow.

It's been freaking 5 months?!!

Hello frenz,

I can't believe it ~ it's been 5 freaking long months since I last blogged! If you did stop by to see if I'm ok, well....I'm doing fine. My pawrents have been really busy with their work and yadda yadda yadda. I seriously doubt you guys want to know how boring my life has been.
I have been occasionally checking out your blogs when I have time and I am glad you guys are having more fun than me. :)

Last weekend, my pawrents were helping me with my manicure and god knows why they didn't bring me down to the groomers. *cough* cheapskate *cough* Mom was holding on to me while I was having fun licking the peanut butter off her sticky but yummy fingers. Dad had the fun task - clipping my lovely LONG nails. Okay, so I admit I was squirming in Mom's arms but that's her fault cos she didn't hold me tight enuff. And so he goes ahead clipping my nails one and one and then.....he said.."oh S**t!!" I was like what S**t? I don't see any poop around? Anyway, to cut the story short, Mom's shirt was stained with blood from my nail and the entire area (of the living room) had blood droplets splattered all over the clean floor. LOL! Don't worry guys, the bleeding stopped and I'm fine. Mom says thank dog it wasn't her favourite shirt.

In case you are wondering, that clipper even had a safety blocker thingy to ensure that accidents like this don't happen. Do you think we can get a money back guarantee?
Will try to write soon !!

Another one bites the dust.....

Dear frenz,

How's your week coming along so far? Lately, I decided to take some time to do more "enchancements" on my previously opawrated subjects. This is my latest masterpiece! ~VOILA~ :) Good to know I haven't lost my skillful opawration techniques. heh heh

Mom has been *upset* with me cos I have not been erm...doing my poop/toilet business accurately on my pee tray. She has no idea why I am so defiant lately. I have a reason for this but I'm not telling okay!! Anyway, after pissing (no pun intended of course!) my mom off, I'll end up being jailed for the next few hours until I show Mom that I can and I know how to pee/poo accurately.

It has been a busy weekend cos Mom's family came over for a visit. Mom's grandpa (yes, he's the one who was hospitalised last year) has not been to my house and I haven't had a chance to meet him yet so Mom decided to organise a gathering at my house. However, some of her relatives (Mom's mother & aunties) are afriad of dogs!??!! Just look at how harmless I am? I can't imagine what's so frightening about me or dogs in general. Hoomans can be so dramatic at times. So Mom had to jail me while the hoomans walk around in my KITCHEN. Unbelieveable I tell ya. The hoomans had the cheek to comment how loudly I bark when they come into the kitchen. Helloooo..that's MY kitchen you are talking about. How dare they walk around and then complain about me barking at them. Sheesh. I did not even get to join in the pawty and feast on the yummy food.

Anyway, here's a video of me in action to make up for all that ranting I did earlier. hehe..Have a good week ahead!

Corn Shank? Corn on Cob?

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

I finally got my latest video uploaded and also uploaded some bootiful piktures of myself. You know, I *almost* miss Mom hovering around me with a camera. hahaha..oh wait...maybe not. I have been busy working on my corn. I want to make a corn shank like my friends. But I don't seem to be getting a hang of it. Perhaps I am holding the corn too delicately? Do you see my little pinkie paw (the last one) in the air?

Gee, it's going to take forever before I remove the yellow ends. *chomp chomp*

Anyway, I leave you with a video of myself working hard on my corn. Perhaps I should just work on my princess bone and leave the corn shank to the boys. *sighz*

Oh yes, Dad is back from his trip. :) He travelled a long long way and he didn't get me anything. Due to some delayed flight schedule, he ended up stopping over in London on his way back to Singapore and got a couple of hours to travel around London. And no, he still didn't get me anything. Sheesh, anyway, I am glad he is back. There is no place like HOME.

Good Grief! Has it been a month already?

Hey frenz,

I can't believe it! I have been out of action for close to ONE freaking month? This has to be my longest break away from blogging. The strange thing was, I just can't seem to get down to blogging. Yes, the hoomans have been really busy with their lives lately. Mom is a grouch cos her work has been very hectic and Dad has been out of town.

I haven't even had time to check out your blogs. :( I hope you guys have been doing okay. Did I miss any exciting news? Perhaps you can drop me a comment and update me on what's going on in your universe.

Thanks for stopping by to say hi if you have been popping by just to see if I updated. What can I say? I'm a real slacker. :P hehe....

Smoke Gets in Your Eyes....

Hello frenz,

The weather has gone all crazy again and it's been pouring for days. The hoomans have been feeling lazy (and they just blame it on the weather) and did not feel like going anywhere. Mom has been spending a lot of time on the compooter setting up SKYPE so that she can use it to chat with Dad when he's travelling.

I get really excited when I hear/see Dad on Mom's compooter. I will tilt my head from side to side and try to get as close as possible to the compooter screen so that I can lick Dad's face. I wish I could get a video of that to show you but that would mean that Dad's face would be seen all over the internet and we would end up freaking everydog out. So you'll just have to take my word for it.

Just wanted to share a pikture taken by Dad recently. He says this looks very arty-farty. Gee, what do I know? I'm just a dog...I don't do art.

I'll show you who's BOSS!

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

It has been a busy week at home cos Dad was involved in the Singapore Airshow 2008. He came home really late and left the house before the sun was up. It has been really disruptive for me cos we all know I need my beauty sleep. He showed me a couple of piktures of the flying aero-displays but I wasn't too impressed. Those planes look like BIRDS to me and I hate BIRDS. Perhaps if I have time, I'll show you a couple of piktures too and let you decide if they look like BIRDS.

A couple of weeks ago, Mom & I were chased by mean black swans at the park. Mom ran off screaming her head off but I was undeterred by those nasty swans. I showed them who's boss and thank dog, Dad managed to show you some evidence of me in action. Do you see Mom anywhere near me? I may be small but I know how to protect my hoomans. On the hindside, those swans could have actually *eaten* me up. *shudders* I just hope my hoomans know how good I am to them protecting them with my life.

Last Sunday, my hoomans brought me out for a playdate with a 7 month old boy Black-Tan long hair dachshund. Mom said he's looking for his forever home and asked me to play nice with him. And so I tried.....*NOT*!! That little fellow (he's a very handsome looking boy actually) was really cheeky and kept trying to smell my butt. I spent more of our playdate sitting on the floor trying to hide from him. He kept taunting me with his squeaky ball but I was not getting off my butt I tell ya. In any case, I hope he finds his forever home soon. Erm...it's not going to my home right Mom??

On a side note, I heard news that Dad will be travelling to Ottawa, Ontario Canada next month for a course. It's going to be a 24-36 hours flight from Singapore and that's only one way. Imagine how long the journey is! Hmm..I wonder what I should be packing for the trip. I heard it's very cold (below zero). Maybe I can visit some of my Canadian friends! (Luckie's Mom : I don't think you'll be going with him, Luckie!)

I have been having some problems with my camera and piktures uploading with my Macbook so until I figure that out, I'll have to depend on Dad for my piktures and we all know how long he takes to release new piktures. :P

Things that make you go hmmmm....

Dear frenz,

Firstly, I know you must be wondering if I succeeded with my heart-shaped poop surprise for my hoomans on Valentine's Day. The answer is no. I did not even get a chance to eat anything to make my poop PINK. But Dad did send a sweet message to Mom saying that he would be back early for dinner (at home - cos my hoomans never celebrate Valentine's Day at all for the past 11 years they have been together) and he ended his message saying "I love you and Luckie too!" Awwww........ I love you too Dad! MUACK! MUACK! MUACK!

Last week, Copper blogged about some things that make him think. It made me think about things that make me go hmmm too.

1) Why does Mom always say I leave a lot of hair around the house? I see a lot of her hair on the floor too and you don't hear me complaining do you? Plus, I'm even closer to the ground so I even have to lie down on her mess sometimes.

2) Watching TV. How can Dad turn into a couch potato and stay there all day long staring at the TV? Pawsonally, I don't watch TV. I can't figure out how they trap those hoomans and animals inside and it freaks me out. How did Dad get so good at his STAY command? Will I also know how to SIT and STAY at one spot for a long time if I watch TV?

3) What do hoomans do at work? Do they sleep (yes I know some peepol can sleep with their eyes open) at work? Do they pretend to be busy? Do they surf the internet? Do they just wait for feeding time (I think they call it lunch) and time for them to go home? My question is..do they even work?

4) Why can't I have access to my treat container as and when I feel like it? It's mine so I should have the right to feed myself (okay, so I may need a little help prying open the lid). I don't understand why my pawrents can gorge on their treats and then moan & groan about feeling guilty and fat all the time. I conclude I should be able to indulge myself anytime and then moan & groan about it later on too. PS : I am not fat.

5) Why do I always need to get my butt wiped and feet cleaned after I finish with my toilet business? I feel pawfectly clean and I am capable of cleaning myself. If I could flush my own pee tray, I would do so. If I had toilet paper to clean myself, I'd use it to make SNOW!!! Wheeeee!! Showers are also over-rated unless they come with a treat each time.

This is like the longest post I have written in months. I need to nap now. Oh, in case you are wondering what have all these piktures got to do with my subject, they don't. I just wanted to post them so you can see how nice I look in my top. :)

Happy 1st Blog Anniversary!

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

Exactly one year ago, I decided to start blogging. Today, I celebrate my First Blog Anniversary with all of you my dear frenz. It has been a really awesome year although I have to admit recently I seem to have developed writer's block. Perhaps cos life has become a familiar but happy routine for me now. I have grown a lot since then don't you think? I don't even remember myself being so teeny (see pikture above) weeny.

The Chinese New Year's celebrations have been fun. I did not get to follow my pawrents while they visited their relatives. But I had lotsa fun lazing around withn my hoomans when they were at home. We did go out to the park though and we were chased by some really MEAN swans. The swans wandered out of the lake and started walking along the path right behind us. Oh dog, they sure had BIG wings. I wasn't afriad of those swans...I showed them who's the boss and chased them back to the lake. bwahahaha.... Dad said he managed to take a pikture of me in action but I highly doubt that cos I reacted so fast that Mom ended up chasing after me instead. :P Even if he did get a pikture, I'd have appeared as a brown furry mass. LOL!!

Valentine's Day just round the corner. How will you be spending your Valentine's Day? I'm still trying to figure out how to create a heart-shaped poop to give to my pawrents as a token of my love for them. Any suggestions?

Gong Xi Fa Cai

Hey Everydog & Girl Girl,

Today is the eve of Chinese New Year. The hoomans will be going to my grandparents' place for their reunion dinner. Last year, Dad had to travel to Chicago and did not get a chance to celebrate Chinese New Year with everyone at home. This year, he's just as busy at work but he's glad he has a chance to eat, drink and be merry with the rest of the family.

The hoomans get a two days break from work (Thursday & Friday) and I know they are certainly looking forward to this long break. Chinese New Year is a special time of the year for the Chinese. There are a lot of traditions and customs which have been passed down for many generations. Mom will be rushing back after work today to clean up the house so that it'll be nice and clean for me to mess up over the next few days. Mom says sweeping the floor on the very first day of the New Year is forbidden as this signifies that the good fortune & luck will be swept away for the new year.

I want to take the time to wish all my frenz Gong Hay Fatt Choy (that's Happy New Year in Cantonese). Have a wonderful Year of the Rat!!

I'll like to UPSIZE my bed please.....

Hello EveryDog & Girl Girl,

A couple of weeks ago, my hoomans bought me a nice red fluffy bed but Dad insisted that it was too short for me or rather I was too long for the bed. However, Mom was in denial and said it was fine since I spend most of my time curled up in bed so the length of the bed is not an issue. If you ask me, I'd say she's just being a stingy poker and doesn't want to spend money on me so that she can do more shopping.

But as you guys know, I have been bonding with Dad a lot lately. He decided to surprise me (& Mom) with a new (BIGGER) bed.

Now that my bed is bigger & wider, I can bring all my toys to bed. Okay, maybe not all my toys, else I won't have any place to sleep at all. hehe...

I am very pleased with my new bed and this is my "Be Gone You Stoopid Woman" look cos I couldn't stand Mom going trigger happy with her camera just because of a new bed.

Here's a video of me enjoying my new bed. It's nothing exciting but I just decided to upload it cos I know you guys miss watching videos of me.

Mom has been really busy at work so that means I don't get a chance to use the compooter as often as I'd like to recently. :( So please bear with me if I'm a bit slow with my updates.

Run Baby Run...

Hey Everydog & Girl Girl,

I am so glad the weekend is here again!! I can't wait to get out into the sun and RUN RUN RUN! :) I know I may have short legs but don't underestimate me...I can still run pretty fast. Here's a pikture of me running towards my Dad. He had that terrified look on his face cos he was worried I'd POUNCE on him and make him drop his precious camera. *sniggle sniggle*

I haven't been doing much lately so I have no new stories to share. I think I'm having a major writer's block. I hope you are having way more fun than I am right now.

Have yourself a wonderful weekend!!

Random Piktures Madness

Hello frenz,

I just wanted to share with you this really cool pikture taken by Dad recently. We were at the park and saw this huge web made by this spider. Mom said it was "gross". I think gross is good! :) I wonder how many days did the spider take to spin such a big web?

I also wonder if this was the spider that bit Peter Parker and made him Spiderman. I have always wanted to have a pet of my own so I told Mom that we should bring Mr Spider home! She pretended (I think?) not to hear me. How could anyone or anydog not hear me when I speak? You know how loud my bark is right? However, when we went back to the park the following week, Mr Spider was no longer there. I think the heavy rain may have washed away all his hard work. :(

We also came across a this really shy lizard. Don't you think Mr Lizard looks like he's riding on a bike? He seems to be holding onto the handle bars. haha... I tried asking Mom once again if I could bring Mr Lizard home too as a pet. I guess she has some hearing problem....she can't seem to hear me when I ask her "sensitive" questions. Must be the volume of music coming from her IPod or I dunno what nots.

I hope your weekend has been fun. I went for a manicure to get my nails done for Chinese New Year on Saturday. That wasn't too exciting. On Sunday, I brought my hoomans to the park for their weekly walks. Oh wait, that sounded a bit wrong. My hoomans brought me for my weekly walk at the park...and it poured really heavily. We were caught in the rain and Mom quickly stuffed me into my bag so that she could keep me dry while the hoomans walked as fast as they could (trust me, it wasn't too fast at all if I still ended up a tad bit wet!) to get to the shelter. It sure was fun watching them get wet. :P

Santa Dog & Me

Hello my frenz,

I have taken your advice and been questioning my hoomans non stop about the other dog. However, they are not revealing anything at this moment. I shall persevere on because I believe they will eventually break down under pressure.

For the past few weeks, I have been busy pawforming my 1st opawration of 2008 on Mr Santa Dog. This is a highly delicate opawration as Mr Santa Dog looks so festive and happy, I really need to break him gently and tenderly.

Don't be deceived by this pikture okay? I was still being really gentle with him. hehe

Doesn't Mr Santa Dog look jolly with his green scarf? To tell you the truth, he looks quite different right now. I just thought it wasn't quite appropriate for him to wear a scarf in Sunny Singapore and kindly removed it for him. Yes, yes...I know you guys must be saying what a thoughtful girl I am right? With the weather in Singapore, he may just end up getting heat stroke wearing a scarf. LOL! I am in the mist of removing his hat too afterall Christmas is over....I'm sure he no longer needs the Santa Hat. :P

Luckie & Santa Dog

I have been trying to get a shot of Mr Santa Dog after his opawration but he seems really shy. I wonder why!

Indoor Gym

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

I went to the park again yesterday. Thank dog, there was no mean little girls calling me meanie names. I had a good walk and basically a pretty decent weekend. I guess Mom's probably feeling guilty for cheating on me cos the hoomans went out for dinner on Saturday night and Mom came back smelling of another DOG! I sniffed and sniffed...seriously, if she wanted to cheat on me, she should have done a better job removing all discriminating evidence. I found cream colored hair on her clothes. Mom finally said they went to see a long haired cream dachsie girl pup. For WHAT??????!!!! *panic mode* Then she said, it was time for my dinner. Food is always good....hey wait, she didn't answer my earlier question! You can be sure I will be watching my hoomans very closely over the next few weeks for any suspicious actions or movements. Hmm....
How do you get a good workout when you are stuck at home and don't get to go out for walks? I present to you the magic red dot! Follow the dot and trust me, you'll be getting an excellent workout. :)

Sorry to rant but do I look like a banana to you?

Pikture taken by Dad of course!

Hello Everydog & Girl Girl,

Last weekend, my hoomans decided to bring me out for a leisurely walk on Sunday morning. You see, the weather in Singapore has been really strange lately. It can be bright and sunny in the morning, but by noon time, the skies start to get dark and before you can say Oh my DOGness *coupled with a surprised look*, it starts to pour cats & dogs (heh heh..no pun intended).

Anyhoo, I was totally enjoying my walk at the park cos it's been a while since I had a chance to go there. So I met a couple of other dogs...so I barked and growled (I even tried to lunge at them), but I was a good girl. No no, I was just being friendly and did not bite!! It's not my fault if my hoomans don't bring me out as often as I like so I just want to meet as many new friends as possible.

Then along came a family with a little girl who exclaimed really loudly to her parents when they finished admiring my long elegant body "Oh Mummy! Look! It's a BANANA dog! She's as long as a BANANA!" Now, I have been called many things...sausage dog, weiner dog..but seriously? BANANA? Tell me, do I look like one to you?

Signed,

A Very Sad Luckie - I am not a banana.
